Recommended Care

WOOD FURNITURE

  • For daily maintenance, clean wood using a mild soap and water solution then towel dry immediately.
  • Dust wood with a soft, dry cloth and buff periodically using a non-wax furniture polish.
  • NEVER use care products that contain silicone or ammonia as this will cut through the lacquer finish over time and damage your piece. Please check the product label.
  • Remove spills immediately and wipe clean to protect surface and finish.
  • Never place hot objects, cups with hot liquids or hot dishes directly on surfaces.
  • Use coasters, felt pads or runners under objects to protect and preserve the surface and finish of your piece.
  • Prolonged use of hot, electrical equipment on top of furniture may also cause damage.
  • Always avoid exposure to direct sunlight or heat as this can cause cracking and potential fading of the wood or paint; a minimum clearance of 12” from heat sources is advised.
  • Do not drag furniture across the floor (wood floors or rugs) as this will cause damage to your floor, weaken furniture parts and cause breakage.
  • Dropping furniture onto its corners or feet will cause damage.
  • Uneven floors are common in most homes even when they are new. You may need to shift your furniture to find a level spot or make use of a shim.
  • Toys, buckles, coins and other hard objects will scratch furnishings. Try to prevent these items from coming in contact with your furniture.
  • We highly recommend our Protection First® Furniture Protection Plan at time of purchase in the event that your furniture is accidently damaged while in your home and to also provide worry-free usage. Please visit our Furniture Protection page for more information.
